Kalocsa is located south of Budapest, near the River Danube. After about two hours drive we arrive in one of the oldest towns in Hungary that is famed for its paprika and embroidery.
Kalocsa is the Episcopal see of one of the four Catholic archbishops in Hungary and it has a beautiful cathedral, the Bishop’s Palace and the Roman Catholic Academy.

In the Paprika Museum of Kalocsa you will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the paprika and the manufacturing process of the world famous Hungarian paprika.
Do not miss the Folk Art Museum of Kalocsa that is located inside a 200-year-old traditional peasant house decorated with old Kalocsa folk motifs. This museum represents the typical interior of a 20th-century Hungarian peasant home.
After about one and half hours drive we arrive in the 2000-year-old city Pécs. Here you will have the opportunity to visit the Mosque of Pasha Gazi Kassim that now serves as a Catholic church. The Mosque is located in the heart of the city, not far away from the Early Christian Burial Thombs (UNESCO World Heritage Site), that is a must see if you are interested in history!
